Participation

Reporting definitions

Know what shown, copied, prompted and organic actually count.

What each count means

Participation is observed activity stored with your programme, not an inferred active-user count or a PostHog customer profile. Reporting stays separate for each connected account and test/live mode.

MeasureDefinition
MomentsDeduplicated events received in the selected period, including skipped events.
ReservedOriginally approved decisions created in the period, including expired or never-shown reservations. Not shown asks.
Shown / copied / dismissedDecisions with that outcome timestamp inside the period; at most once per decision per outcome. A first dismissal counts as shown.
Observed visitsAt most one visit per copied decision with a valid prompt context token. Not unique visitors or total clicks.
Unique promptedDistinct customers with a shown ask in the period.
Unique copiersDistinct customers with both a shown ask and a prompted copy in the period.
Prompt response rateUnique copiers ÷ unique prompted. 40 of 200 = 20%. No prompted customers means no rate, not 0% participation.
Prompted / organic referralsReferrals attributed in the period, split by presence or absence of captured prompt context; each referral counts once.
Paid referralsPeriod-attributed referrals with at least one currently non-reversed qualifying payment, split by prompt context.
Qualified referralsPeriod-attributed referrals currently meeting the programme payment milestone.
Issued rewardsFulfilled entitlements for period-attributed referrals; not necessarily issued during that period.
Later prompted referralsReferrals created after the period ends, with an attached decision shown inside it. Separate from period sign-ups.
Organic copies / visitsSeparately observed static actions received in the period. Not shown asks, prompted copies or every use of an old link.

Read the dates before comparing

Backend periods are UTC, from-inclusive and to-exclusive, up to 366 days. Daily trends use UTC dates. Event, outcome and referral counts use their own timestamps, so a reservation yesterday and a shown report today can appear on different days.

Paid, qualified and issued states are current as of the query for referrals attributed in the selected period. A payment after the period can change those counts. They are not payment-date cash flow or revenue. Moment breakdowns include only referrals attached to that moment.

Observed participation, not causal uplift

"Organic" means no captured prompt context. It does not prove a prompt had no influence. Blocked reports, stripped tokens, Payment Links without metadata propagation and code-only sharing can undercount prompt context.

These counts do not measure all your users, unique visitors, attention, incremental revenue or causal lift. ReferSprout does not silently combine currencies into a revenue total. Static copies stay separate from prompted copies.
